The Restart

Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! - Romans 15:13

Every computer owner has, at some point, experienced technology exasperation. One of the most frustrating glitches is having your operating device come to a complete halt—frozen—100% stuck in that endless hourglass or rotating spinning wheel mode without hope for resolution. You’re left with only one option: shut it down, let it rest, and eventually reboot.

The computers of our brains can also get stuck at times. Maybe you’ve experienced a season that's been challenging, but now you can’t move beyond the sadness. Or maybe you went through something that raised your anxiety and long after you still feel anxious. It could even be something that crept in slowly over time—just life wearing you thin until you feel stuck in emotions that keep you from thriving. It happens to all of us periodically, spinning in cycles that rob us of our peace and joy.

It’s time for a personal reboot but, unlike computers, we can’t simply shut down and press a restart button. The good news is that God offers both hope and help. He invites us to express all our emotions to Him, even lamenting our deepest feelings, with unmatched empathy. He speaks to us through His Word, offering comfort and encouragement. And He promises to provide for our needs as we look to Him.

We were meant to live with our spirits at peace and our hearts full of joy. Anything less is what we bring to God, asking Him to heal and restore with great abundance!

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS

God wants each of us to live our best lives and enjoy His good blessings. If you feel emotionally stuck, set aside time to talk with God, to be quiet with Him and to read His Word. Don’t hesitate to talk with the trusted people around you or seek Christian counseling or therapy. Life is too precious to let it pass without living fully.
